Voyager Of The Seas Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review Royal Caribbean

I say hurtfully because as a Suite passenger I should be here, though my particular suite is far from the others. Whereas I am stuck amid the riffraff of Deck 11, this section is on the highborn Decks 16 and 17, and in passing, I peek into the spacious, tall-ceilinged staterooms from the hallway, dazzled by the glint of the waves and sun. For $75,000, one multifloor suite even comes with its own slide between floors, so that a family may enjoy this particular terror in private.

Bars and Lounges

All portside and starboard balconies are with an in-hull design. Solid metal rises up to 3 ft / 1 m from the deck floor, while the other part of the railing is open. Aft-facing balconies are warmer compared to the other ones during cold-weather cruise itineraries. Side-location balconies offer better views since the ones closer to the middle are more enclosed. Cabins on the aft hump's outer part are premium location staterooms. The Voyager Of The Seas cruise ship cabins page is conveniently interlinked with its deck plans showing deck layouts combined with a legend and review of all onboard venues.

Who is the Voyager Class best for?

Royal Amplified is Royal Caribbean’s program that updates ships’ amenities, staterooms, dining and lounge choices, activities, and more. Because three Voyager Class ships have been updated, you will find many of Royal Caribbean’s newest attractions and activities onboard. Beyond just eating and drinking your way across this ship, and maybe enjoying a few quiet moments in your suite or stateroom, there’s plenty to keep you entertained during your Voyager of the Seas cruise. You can also book culinary experiences like The Chef’s Table, for a VIP dining experience led by the ship’s chef. Junior suites offer 265 square feet and large balconies, with extra seating, bathtubs and bigger closets for extra storage space. Ocean view panoramic suites offer over 400 square feet and are more ideal for larger parties, with their extra beds.

Our most brilliant experiences

Categories VP (Oceanview Suite), 1K (Ultra-Spacious Oceanview), and 1L (Panoramic Oceanview) are bow-facing, family-type cabins perfect for families with more kids. They accommodate up to 6 passengers making them a cheaper alternative to booking connecting cabins. These staterooms offer amazing unobstructed views and can be booked cheaper than balcony cabins. A day or two before I got off the ship, I decided to make use of my balcony, which I had avoided because I thought the view would only depress me further. This entire time, I had been living in the ship’s Disneyland, Surfside, the neighborhood full of screaming toddlers consuming milkshakes and candy.

Stay connected

There are quite a few things to do on the Voyager of the Seas. Some are included in the cost of the cruise, while others have an additional charge. Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas has 10 different bars and lounges where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail. It also has 1 other bars that are available for select guests. Rent a private Ocean View Cabana for a luxurious beach day you'll never forget. "What can I say? We absolutely love Virgin Voyages...you have customers for life. Already booked our third cruise."

More About Cruising

On the first day of our cruise, we were so excited to see that we were assigned a table right by a window in the Main Dining Room! This view was wonderful to admire every night when we had dinner. Our cabin was in the very front of the ship, overlooking the helipad. We were on the ninth deck, which was ideal because we weren't far from public venues. I was worried about being in the front of the ship motion-wise, but we had such smooth sailings that I rarely felt the ship move when I was in the cabin. With an abundance of onboard cruise restaurants and fine dining experiences discover the top cruise foods aboard Voyager of the Seas.

Chops Grille was actually quite busy the night that we went. This was vastly different than Giovanni’s when there were only about 15 of us dining. The bathroom felt a little more retro than the rest of the cabin because of the color scheme, but it was just fine for our five-night cruise. On embarkation day, we requested a Lyft and made our way to Galveston.

Explorer of the Seas

Change the name on your voyage up to 48 hours before you head out if you can’t make it, or want to change whoever is sailing with you. Unlike other places, you can change your voyage dates — meaning you get the flexibility you need when life (as it does) happens. We've taken care (of taking care) of your servers, so we cover the gratuities for your onboard experiences.

The Voyager-class ships were the first to introduce the Royal Promenade, a large central hub that runs through the middle of the ship, offering shopping, restaurants, bars, and activities. It also saw the introduction of the Studio B Ice Skating Rink and a climbing wall onboard. The Voyager of the Seas is very similar to its sister-ships; Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas, although each ship may have some differences.

He is a sweet, gentle man, and I thank him for the earworm of a song he has given me and for keeping us safe from the dreaded norovirus. “This is very important to me, getting people to wash their hands,” he tells me in his burger getup. He has dreams, as an artist and a performer, but they are limited in scope. One day he wants to dress up as a piece of bacon for the morning shift. THERE ARE BARELY 48 HOURS LEFT to the cruise, and the Icon of the Seas’ passengers are salty.

You can save money by booking a forward/aft stateroom in the category you are interested in. Their sizes and features (amenities) are the same as of the more expensive mid-location staterooms. Other than the dining and beverage venues shared on all Voyager Class ships, Mariner of the Seas has Jamie’s Italian, Izumi Hibachi and Sushi, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Dog House, Starbucks, Boleros, and The Bamboo Room.

It makes no sense on sea, or on land, or in outer space. It looks like a hodgepodge of domes and minarets, tubes and canopies, like Istanbul had it been designed by idiots. Vibrant, oversignifying colors are stacked upon other such colors, decks perched over still more decks; the only comfort is a row of lifeboats ringing its perimeter. There is no imposed order, no cogent thought, and, for those who do not harbor a totalitarian sense of gigantomania, no visual mercy. This is the biggest cruise ship ever built, and I have been tasked with witnessing its inaugural voyage.

Royal Caribbean’s Voyager Class cruise ships can be a nice choice for first-time or seasoned cruisers. They come with plenty to do, see, eat, and drink onboard, and offer a diverse range of itineraries around the world. As is the case on most cruise ships, suite guests aboard Voyager of the Seas enjoy extra amenities and access to VIP areas. The ship offers a suite-guest-only lounge (plus an additional lounge for members of the Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society). I put on my meatball T-shirt and head for one of the dining rooms to get a late lunch. In the elevator, I stick out my chest for all to read the funny legend upon it, but soon I realize that despite its burnished tricolor letters, no one takes note.

This is an interactive water play area (with cannons and geysers) replacing the old Outdoor Youth Area (aka “back deck”). Voyager is Royal Caribbean's first Voyager-class liner, with sisterships Adventure, Explorer, Mariner, Navigator. Voyager OTS was built in 1999 by Kvaerner Masa (Turku Finland) - shipbuilder of all vessels in this series. The company is now part of STX Europe (a division of STX Holding, South Korea). In 1999, Voyager OTS was the world's biggest passenger ship. They used to call it "floating sea'" because of its innovative design.

For true ocean views, booking a balcony cabin is your best bet. The balcony cabins are similar in size and layout to the ocean-view staterooms, but include a furnished balcony that is accessible via a set of glass doors that take up nearly the entire far wall of the cabin. Nothing beats relaxing by a pool with a nice drink in hand as you feel the fresh sea breeze pass by you. The problem is that with thousands of people on a ship, there's not always room. If you want to spend all day in a pool, a cruise might not be the right choice.
